Drifting away and then toward peace and joy it’s part of my rock ‘n’ roll philosophy

Drift Away (most popular artist Dobi Gray

Day after day I’m more confused
Look for the light through the pouring rain
You know that’s a game I hate to lose
Feeling the strain
Ain’t it a shame

Chorus
Give me the beat boys and free. My soul I wanna get lost in your  rock and roll and drift away (repeat)

Beginning to think I’m wasting time
I don’t understand the things I do
The world outside looks so unkind
Now I’m. counting on you
To carry me through

Chorus

Bridge?...And when my mind is free
You know a melody can move me
when I’m feeling blue
Your guitar’s coming through to sooth me..
Thanks for the joy that you’ve given me
I want. You to know. I believe in your songs
Rhythm and rhyme and harmony
You’ve helped me a long
Making me strong

Chorus

Philosophy

This song speaks to my very soul for the following. Reasons.

First it is about  music which makes it music about  music—how’s a music lover not going to. Be wrapped up in that?  It’s about  the powerful role  music  can and does play in one’s “attitudinal” and spiritual life.
Second it illustrates that music can. Do this whether. Our not you are currently happy or sad.

Third, it brings home the point that musicians intentionally try to communicate emotions.  These can be the emotions of the listener or emotions the writer wants the listener to empathize  or sympathize with.  In short it is a singular experience that  is at time shared by and  for others.
Lastly, it points out that life changes, moods, change, and no matter what music can be trusted to assist in a person’s transformational journey.
Oh yes and it is fun to.sing alone or with a group.

Okay this blog is going to drift away until Tuesday...but not as far away as Major Tom

Peace
